Albir Rojas is a popular performer and Kizomba instructor. He has been dancing since the age of 15. Rojas was working as a staff accountant when he decided to leave his job to pursue dance full-time. Albir honed his dancing skills with roles in musicals such as Fame, Grease and West Side Story. While in Spain, one of Albir’s students introduced him to Kizomba music after teaching a class. He loved it instantly. Albir teamed up with Sara Lopez to become one of the most popular Kizomba duos in the world. Albir met Sara while he was teaching a hip-hop class in Spain. In September 2013, Albir and Sara parted ways.
As of December 2013, Albir’s new dance partner is Carola Tauler from Madrid, Spain. Albir describes his dance style as “Kizomba fusion”. His name in India means “brave”.
